As we expand our wind energy portfolio in Bulgaria, we’re looking for a Wind Development Expert to help take new projects from site identification through development and building permit.

Why this role matters

In this role, you’ll coordinate the development process across land acquisition, spatial planning, environmental procedures, technical studies and permitting.

Working with landowners, municipalities, public authorities, utility companies, engineers and external consultants, you’ll help move projects through key development milestones and contribute directly to building SUNOTEC’s wind energy portfolio in Bulgaria.

Where you’ll make an impact

• Identify and assess potential sites for wind energy development, considering land, planning and development constraints.
• Support land acquisition and land rights, including property acquisitions, leases, easements and other rights required for project development.
• Coordinate legal, technical and spatial-planning due diligence, identifying potential risks early in the development process.
• Drive land-use and spatial-planning procedures, including agricultural land conversion and the preparation and approval of General and Detailed Development Plans (OUP/PUP), together with related environmental procedures.
• Coordinate environmental and technical studies, designers, engineers and external consultants to keep development activities aligned.
• Manage administrative procedures with municipalities, state authorities and utility companies, ensuring applications and approvals progress as planned.
• Keep control of project documentation, deadlines and key development risks, providing clear visibility of progress across the project team.
• Drive projects towards building permit readiness, ensuring the required development steps are completed and properly documented.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have a university degree in Law, Urban Planning, Architecture, Civil Engineering or another relevant discipline.
• Bring experience in the development of investment, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Have practical experience with Detailed Development Plans (PUP), agricultural land conversion, environmental procedures and permitting in Bulgaria.
• Are comfortable working with state and municipal authorities and coordinating formal administrative procedures.
• Have practical experience in the development of wind, solar PV or battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
• Can manage several projects and workstreams simultaneously while keeping track of deadlines, dependencies and risks.
• Communicate effectively with landowners, consultants, engineers, legal advisors and public authorities.
• Can work professionally in English and are confident using MS Office and digital tools.
• Hold a valid Category B driving license and are comfortable travelling across Bulgaria.
