Expanding our team in Sofia, Bulgaria, we are looking for a Tax Specialist.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and/or prepare VAT returns and other tax-related documents in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations across different jurisdictions;
  • Prepare claims for refunds of VAT paid in other countries;
  • Assist the Tax Manager on compliance matters related to VAT and tax documentation;
  • Support the accounting team in reconciling tax liabilities and relevant data with accounting records;
  • Participate in communication with domestic and foreign tax authorities during audits, checks, and inspections;
  • Collaborate with internal departments in preparing responses to tax authorities’ inquiries and support tax-related proceedings, including appeals;
  • Support the Head of Tax and Tax Managers in all tax-related matters, providing updates on ongoing projects and tasks related to domestic and international taxation;
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work with a high level of independence.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or Law;
  • Up to 2–3 years of relevant experience as a Tax Accountant, Tax Specialist, or similar role, either in-house or in a consulting firm;
  • Experience in Bulgarian and/or international tax compliance is considered an advantage;
  • Fluent English skills – written and spoken;
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop within the field of taxation;
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is considered an advantage, but not mandatory.
