As renewable energy projects grow in scale and complexity, strong financial control becomes essential to making sound decisions and building a sustainable international business.

At SUNOTEC, we develop and deliver integrated renewable energy infrastructure across power generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services. Our teams work across multiple European markets, bringing together engineering, project delivery and financial expertise to support Europe’s energy transition.

As our international operations continue to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Financial Controller (Accounting) to strengthen the quality, consistency and transparency of financial reporting across our entities.

Why this role matters

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the quality and consistency of financial data provided by local accounting teams across multiple countries.

Working closely with accounting, project controlling and finance teams, you’ll ensure accurate financial statements, strengthen month-end closing processes and help standardize accounting and reporting practices across SUNOTEC’s international operations.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Own the quality review of financial data across multiple entities, validating trial balances, P&L statements and Balance Sheets;
  • Drive a consistent month-end closing process, working with local accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial results;
  • Review and challenge accounting entries, accruals and reconciliations, identifying inconsistencies and ensuring appropriate accounting treatment;
  • Ensure consistent cost allocation and accounting practices across entities, improving comparability and reporting quality;
  • Monitor financial statements and define key financial KPIs, providing clear visibility of performance and areas requiring attention;
  • Standardise accounting processes and reporting formats to support SUNOTEC’s continued international growth;
  • Act as a key finance contact for audits, collaborating closely with auditors, project controlling and finance teams.

What will help you succeed

  • A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field;
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, audit or financial controlling, ideally in an international or multi-entity environment;
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, month-end closing, accruals and reconciliations;
  • A strong eye for detail and the ability to identify and challenge financial inconsistencies;
  • Previous audit experience is an advantage;
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; SAP is preferred;
  • Fluency in English, as you’ll work with colleagues across multiple countries.

Why you’ll enjoy working here

You’ll join an international business delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across Europe, with the opportunity to influence how accounting and financial reporting processes develop as the organization grows.

You’ll work across multiple countries and entities, collaborating with local accounting, controlling and finance teams while helping strengthen financial governance across the business.

In addition, you’ll benefit from:

  • A remuneration package reflecting the scope of the role and your experience;
  • Full-time employment contract;
  • Additional health insurance including dental care;
  • Multisport card;
  • 24 days of paid annual leave;
  • Home office policy;
  • Modern office facilities, team events and additional employee benefits.

If you’d like to use your financial expertise in an international business building the infrastructure behind Europe’s energy transition, we’d like to hear from you.

Send us your CV in English and become part of SUNOTEC.
