As part of the continued growth of our Nordic operations, we are looking for a SCADA Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement SCADA systems for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS);
- Lead SCADA integration activities across plant components, control systems, and communication networks;
- Configure, validate, and optimise communication architectures between field devices, plant controllers, and central monitoring systems;
- Execute testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of SCADA, communication, and control systems during project delivery;
- Support the integration of plant systems with grid operators and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with technical requirements;
- Ensure reliable data acquisition, monitoring, and reporting throughout all project phases, from construction through commercial operation;
- Collaborate closely with engineering, grid compliance, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution;
- Support the preparation of technical documentation, commissioning reports, as-built documentation, and operational procedures;
- Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of system performance issues during commissioning and operational phases;
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to SCADA architecture, cybersecurity, and plant monitoring solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience with SCADA systems within renewable energy projects (mandatory);
- Strong technical understanding of industrial control systems, data acquisition, monitoring platforms, and plant communications;
- Practical experience with SCADA system architecture, integration, testing, and commissioning;
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting communication and control system issues;
- Solid knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, Ethernet-based communication systems, and related networking concepts;
- Experience working with grid interfaces, plant control systems, and utility-scale renewable energy assets;
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced EPC project environment;
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
Considered an Advantage:
- Experience with SCADA systems for Solar PV and/or Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects;
- Knowledge of Power Plant Controllers (PPC) and hybrid plant control concepts;
- Experience working on utility-scale, grid-connected renewable energy projects;
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and frameworks, including IEC-based standards;
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for industrial control systems.
