Job Description
Job Title:  QA/QC Manager - Renewable Energy Construction
Posting Start Date:  10/17/26

Delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure requires more than strong engineering and efficient construction. Every project must meet strict quality standards, technical specifications and regulatory requirements, from the first construction activities through final inspection and handover.

At SUNOTEC, we take responsibility for quality at every stage.

As an international system integrator, we've delivered more than 680 projects and over 15 GW of installed renewable energy capacity. Our teams work across solar power generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services.

As our EPC project portfolio in the UK continues to grow, we're looking for a QA/QC Manager to oversee quality standards and ensure consistent quality management practices across our renewable energy construction projects throughout the country.

Why this role matters:

Quality assurance and control directly affect the safety, reliability and long-term performance of the energy infrastructure we deliver.

As a QA/QC Manager at SUNOTEC, you'll take responsibility for implementing and maintaining quality management standards across multiple EPC construction projects in the UK. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors, you'll ensure construction activities comply with contractual requirements, technical specifications and applicable UK regulations and standards.

Your role will be essential in maintaining consistent quality practices across different project sites, identifying potential issues early and ensuring effective corrective actions that support successful project completion and handover.

Where you'll make an impact:

  • Own the implementation and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple EPC construction sites, ensuring quality procedures are consistently applied and aligned with project-specific requirements;
  • Ensure compliance with project quality standards by reviewing construction plans, technical specifications and documentation against contractual obligations, applicable UK regulations and relevant British Standards;
  • Oversee inspection and testing activities throughout the construction lifecycle, ensuring all required checks are completed in accordance with approved Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and project specifications;
  • Identify, investigate and resolve quality non-conformities, working with project teams and subcontractors to implement effective corrective and preventive actions and prevent recurring issues;
  • Conduct quality inspections and audits across project sites to assess construction practices, verify compliance and identify opportunities to improve quality performance;
  • Maintain accurate and accessible quality documentation, including audit findings, inspection records, QA/QC procedures, work instructions and applicable codes and standards, ensuring traceability and readiness for project handover;
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, subcontractors and third-party inspectors across different sites to address quality-related challenges, coordinate inspections and support required certifications and approvals;
  • Strengthen quality awareness across project teams by providing guidance and training on QA/QC procedures, monitoring quality performance and reporting key findings and improvement actions to senior management.

What will help you succeed:

  • You hold a Bachelor's degree or NVQ Level 4+ qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline;
  • You bring at least 5 years of experience in QA/QC management within EPC construction projects, with a practical understanding of quality control throughout construction and project execution;
  • You have solid knowledge of construction methods, materials, technical specifications and applicable UK construction regulations and British Standards;
  • You're familiar with Quality Management Systems, inspection procedures and quality documentation, and understand how these support consistent construction standards across multiple project sites;
  • You can confidently review technical documents, inspection records and construction activities, identifying inconsistencies and determining appropriate corrective actions;
  • You're comfortable using project management software and Microsoft Office tools to maintain quality records, monitor findings and prepare management reports;
  • You communicate effectively with engineers, site teams, subcontractors and external inspectors, including when addressing quality issues that require timely resolution;
  • You take ownership of your decisions, manage competing priorities and maintain consistent quality standards, even when construction schedules are demanding;
  • You're comfortable working across different construction sites and coordinating quality activities with multiple project teams;
  • Previous experience in utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS) or other renewable energy construction projects would be an advantage.

Why you'll enjoy working here:

  • At SUNOTEC, you'll contribute directly to the quality and reliability of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure projects across the UK;
  • You'll work alongside experienced professionals across engineering, construction and project management, with the opportunity to influence how quality standards are applied throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Our international project portfolio will expose you to different technical challenges, construction practices and multidisciplinary teams. You'll have the responsibility and autonomy to identify improvements and help maintain the standards behind our project delivery;
  • As our business continues to grow, you'll have opportunities to expand your expertise and contribute to increasingly complex renewable energy infrastructure projects;
  • You'll also benefit from employment conditions and a remuneration package reflecting the responsibilities of the position and your experience.
