Job Description
Job Title:  QA/QC Manager - Renewable Energy Construction
Posting Start Date:  8/27/26

Consistent quality across large-scale construction projects depends on clear standards, reliable processes and experienced people who can identify risks before they affect project delivery.

SUNOTEC is an international system integrator of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. Since 2012, we have delivered more than 680 solar power plants and battery energy storage (BESS) projects, with over 15 GW of installed capacity and 6 GWh of battery energy storage capacity across Europe and beyond.

As our business continues to grow in Romania, we're looking for a QA/QC Manager – Renewable Energy Construction to lead quality management across our local renewable energy projects. Based in Bucharest, you'll play a key role in ensuring that SUNOTEC's Group Quality Management System is consistently implemented across our Romanian project portfolio while supporting continuous quality improvement at local level.

Why this role matters:

As SUNOTEC continues to expand its presence in Romania, maintaining consistent quality standards across all local projects is essential.

Reporting to the Head of QA/QC, you'll be responsible for implementing SUNOTEC's Group Quality Management System across our Romanian construction projects and ensuring that quality requirements are consistently applied throughout project delivery. Working closely with project management, engineering, procurement and construction teams, you'll help build a strong quality culture while adapting group standards to local project execution and regulatory requirements.

This is a senior role with a high level of autonomy. You'll be expected to build trusted relationships with local project teams, identify improvement opportunities and take ownership of quality performance across the Romanian business.

Where you'll make an impact:

  • Lead the implementation and local governance of SUNOTEC's Group Quality Management System across renewable energy construction projects in Romania, ensuring consistent application of group standards and procedures;
  • Act as the local quality representative, supporting project teams in interpreting, applying and continuously improving quality processes throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Coordinate and support local Quality Inspectors, providing technical guidance, setting priorities and ensuring a consistent quality approach across multiple construction sites;
  • Oversee inspections, testing and internal audits, identifying risks and non-conformities early and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions are implemented;
  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, project management and construction teams to resolve quality issues and maintain compliance with technical, contractual and regulatory requirements;
  • Coordinate quality activities with clients, regulatory authorities, certification bodies and third-party inspectors throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Monitor quality performance, analyze trends, and provide management with clear reporting and practical recommendations;
  • Drive continuous quality improvement across SUNOTEC's Romanian project portfolio.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Hold at least a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or another relevant technical discipline;
  • Bring QA/QC experience from large-scale construction or infrastructure projects and understand how quality affects timelines, costs, contractual obligations and final acceptance;
  • Have successfully implemented and maintained Quality Management Systems within active construction projects, ensuring consistent application across multiple stakeholders;
  • Have practical experience with internal audits, non-conformity management and corrective and preventive actions, ideally within FIDIC-based projects;
  • Have led Quality Inspectors or other site-based quality professionals and can provide direction without relying on close day-to-day supervision;
  • Have a good understanding of local construction regulations and can translate group quality requirements into practical implementation across Romanian projects;
  • Can quickly understand a new organization, independently manage priorities and communicate confidently with technical teams, subcontractors and external stakeholders;
  • Work confidently in English and Romanian and are willing to travel within Romania according to project needs.

Previous experience in renewable energy or solar construction is an advantage, but it isn't required. We're primarily interested in experienced quality professionals with strong construction experience who can apply their expertise to large-scale renewable energy projects.

Why you'll enjoy working here

You'll have the opportunity to shape how quality is delivered across one of SUNOTEC's fastest-growing markets. The role combines ownership of local quality management with direct involvement in complex renewable energy construction projects, giving you the opportunity to influence how projects are delivered from mobilization through final handover.

You'll collaborate with professionals across quality, engineering, procurement, project management and construction while being part of an international organization delivering utility-scale solar, battery storage and grid infrastructure projects across Europe.

In addition, you'll benefit from:

  • A remuneration package reflecting the seniority and scope of the role;
  • A full-time employment contract;
  • The opportunity to work on some of Europe's largest renewable energy infrastructure projects;
  • An international environment where you'll collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries and disciplines;
  • Professional development, knowledge sharing and opportunities for long-term career growth within a rapidly expanding business.
