Large-scale renewable energy projects depend on more than strong engineering. Keeping construction moving requires accurate information from site, disciplined follow-up and close coordination between contractors, technical teams and project management.

SUNOTEC is an international system integrator delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure across power generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services. With more than 680 projects and over 15 GW of installed renewable energy capacity, our teams work across multiple markets to deliver complex energy projects from engineering through construction and commissioning.

As we expand our activities in the Dominican Republic, we’re looking for a Project Coordinator to support the delivery of the Mella Project.

Why this role matters:

You’ll be the local coordination point connecting what’s happening on site with SUNOTEC’s international project team.

Working closely with the Project Manager, contractors and specialists across engineering, procurement, construction, quality, HSE, logistics and commercial functions, you’ll help maintain a clear and accurate view of project progress and keep actions moving.

This is a hands-on, site-oriented role. You won’t replace the Construction Manager or specialized technical teams, but you’ll provide the continuous local coordination and follow-up that helps the wider team identify issues early, make informed decisions and keep the project on track.

Where you’ll make an impact:

• Maintain regular presence at the Mella Project site, following construction progress against agreed schedules, milestones and priorities and giving the Project Manager reliable visibility of what’s happening on the ground;
• Keep contractors, subcontractors and project stakeholders aligned by following up on open actions, commitments, deadlines and upcoming works, identifying delays or constraints before they affect project delivery;
• Maintain structured and traceable project documentation across SharePoint, Procore and agreed project systems, including drawings, technical submissions, RFIs, correspondence, approvals, non-conformities and handover documentation;
• Turn site information into clear project reporting by collecting and consolidating progress data, photographs, manpower and equipment information, open points and key dependencies for regular project updates;
• Coordinate the flow of information between SUNOTEC’s international teams and local contractors, consultants, suppliers, authorities and service providers, including communication between Spanish- and English-speaking stakeholders;
• Keep decisions and commitments visible by coordinating project and site meetings, preparing structured Minutes of Meeting and maintaining action trackers with clear owners and deadlines;
• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, quality, HSE, logistics and commercial activities, including interfaces between the PV plant, BESS, substation, transmission line and grid connection works;
• Support the local organization of the project, including mobilization of SUNOTEC personnel, site visits, access, transportation, accommodation and other project logistics when required.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

• Have at least 3 years of previous experience in project coordination, construction coordination, project administration or document control, ideally within EPC, renewable energy, energy, infrastructure or another construction-based environment;
• Have previous experience working on construction, energy or infrastructure projects in the Dominican Republic, giving you a practical understanding of the local project environment, stakeholders and ways of working;
• Are comfortable spending significant time on a construction site and can translate what you see on the ground into accurate, structured information for a project team;
• Work in a highly organized way and can keep track of multiple actions, deadlines, documents and stakeholders without losing sight of priorities;
• Know when an issue can be resolved through local coordination and when it needs to be escalated to the Project Manager or a specialist technical team;
• Are confident working with contractors, suppliers and different project disciplines and can follow up persistently while maintaining professional working relationships;
• Are fluent in Spanish and have professional working proficiency in English, as you’ll regularly connect local stakeholders with SUNOTEC’s international project team;
• Are an advanced user of MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Experience with SharePoint, Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar project tools would be an advantage;
• Hold a valid driving license and are available to work regularly from the Mella Project site and travel within the Dominican Republic when required.
