Job Description
Job Title:  Insurance Manager
Posting Start Date:  6/5/26

Large-scale renewable energy infrastructure brings together complex construction programs, high-value assets, international supply chains and multiple contractual relationships. Managing the risks behind those projects is an important part of delivering them successfully.

SUNOTEC is an international system integrator of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. With more than 680 projects and over 15 GW of installed renewable energy capacity, our teams work across power generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services in multiple European markets.

As our project portfolio and international operations continue to grow, we’re looking for an Insurance Manager to strengthen the way we manage insurance risk across the Group.

Why this role matters

Insurance at SUNOTEC goes far beyond policy administration. The right coverage protects our projects, people and assets while supporting contractual commitments and effective project delivery across different markets.

As Insurance Manager, you’ll take ownership of insurance matters across the Group, working with project teams, business functions, brokers and insurers to ensure our companies and projects have appropriate protection in place.

From construction and liability risks to fleet, property and claims, you’ll bring structure, commercial judgement and insurance expertise to a growing international project portfolio.

Where you’ll make an impact

  • Own insurance matters across the Group, ensuring appropriate and continuous coverage for our companies, projects and assets across CAR, general and professional liability, fleet, property and other relevant insurance programs.
  • Shape the Group’s insurance coverage by assessing business and project requirements, identifying potential gaps and working with brokers and insurers to establish appropriate coverage structures.
  • Manage relationships with brokers and insurers, ensuring SUNOTEC receives effective market support, clear advice and commercially appropriate insurance solutions as the business and project portfolio evolve.
  • Lead policy placement and renewals, coordinating the information, negotiations, documentation and internal stakeholders required to keep insurance programs accurate, current and aligned with business needs.
  • Protect SUNOTEC’s contractual position by reviewing insurance requirements, policy wording, endorsements, exclusions and insurance-related clauses in client contracts, tenders and other commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate insurance claims from notification through resolution, bringing together insurers, brokers, project teams and other stakeholders to support timely and well-documented outcomes.
  • Maintain clear visibility of insurance exposure across the Group through accurate records and reporting on policies, claims, insured assets, coverage requirements and relevant risk exposures.
  • Support due diligence, audits and compliance reviews, providing reliable insurance information and helping ensure that project and corporate requirements are properly addressed.

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring at least 5 years of relevant experience in corporate insurance, insurance broking or a related risk environment, with meaningful exposure to property and commercial insurance.
  • Have a strong understanding of corporate and construction-related insurance, enabling you to assess coverage requirements for projects, assets and business operations.
  • Are confident interpreting policy wording, coverage structures, exclusions, endorsements and claims provisions, and can translate their implications into clear recommendations for business stakeholders.
  • Have experience managing or administering international insurance programmes. Exposure to construction, engineering, renewable energy or industrial projects would be particularly relevant to the work we do.
  • Can review contractual insurance requirements and identify where proposed terms may create coverage gaps, additional exposure or obligations that require further discussion.
  • Combine analytical thinking with commercial judgement. You’re comfortable working through complex information and determining what matters for the business rather than simply administering a process.
  • Can manage several policies, renewals, claims and project requirements simultaneously while maintaining accurate documentation and clear priorities.
  • Communicate and negotiate confidently with brokers, insurers, project teams and senior internal stakeholders, including when different commercial or contractual interests need to be aligned.
  • Are comfortable working with digital insurance platforms and maintaining structured insurance information and records.
  • Work professionally in English, both written and spoken, as the role involves regular collaboration with colleagues and external partners across Europe.

A university degree in Insurance, Finance, Economics, Banking, Business Administration or a related field is relevant to the role, although substantial equivalent professional experience is equally valuable.

Why you’ll enjoy working here

You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of insurance across a business delivering large-scale renewable energy infrastructure throughout Europe.

The role gives you visibility across different parts of the organisation and the full lifecycle of our projects. You’ll work with project management, legal, finance, procurement and other business functions, as well as external brokers and insurers, on risks connected to complex construction and energy infrastructure.

As SUNOTEC continues to grow, you’ll have the opportunity to help strengthen our approach to insurance, improve how we manage risk across the Group and support increasingly complex projects and international operations.

In addition, you’ll benefit from:

  • A remuneration package reflecting the scope of the role and your experience;
  • Full-time employment contract;
  • Additional health insurance including dental care;
  • Multisport card;
  • 24 days of paid annual leave;
  • Home office policy;
  • Modern office facilities, team events and additional employee benefits.

If you’d like to use your insurance expertise to help protect the projects and assets behind Europe’s energy transition, this could be the right role for you.

Send us your CV in English and become part of a team delivering large-scale solar, battery storage and grid infrastructure projects across Europe.
