Expanding our team in Bulgaria, we are looking for a Head of Health and Safety.

Responsibilities:
 

• Manages and scales the HSE team, defining clear KPIs and technical standards to ensure consistent safety delivery across all project sites.
• Establishes and oversees the organizational framework for hazard identification, ensuring that risk assessment methodologies are standardized and applied across all project lifecycles.
• Defines and oversees the global HSSE policy framework, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, international best practices, and client requirements.
• Designs the company’s safety documentation standards (HSSE Procedures, HIRA, Emergency Response), ensuring a unified approach for all projects.
• Manages the effective implementation of appropriate management system & procedures and follows up changes on in legislations and the customer’s directive for multiple sites;
• Acts as the primary HSE point of contact in high-level discussions with EPC contractors, key clients, and regulatory bodies at a steering committee level.
• Designs the organizational HSE training curriculum and competency matrices, ensuring that both internal teams and subcontractors meet safety standards.
• Establishes the internal and external audit strategy, analyzing gaps and verifying the integrity of HSE implementation across all project lifecycles.
• Leads high-level investigations into incidents to identify root causes; transforms data into strategies to eliminate systemic risks.
• Sets the standards for environmental compliance and waste management performance, aligning site operations with ESG targets.
• Integrates HSSE risks into the broader corporate risk management framework, ensuring business continuity and protection of the company’s reputation.

Requirements:
 

• Bachelor’s degree in an Environmental science/Engineering, Health & Safety Environment;
• Engineer, Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent qualifications; Safety Expert certification;
• Expertise in construction safety management systems and electrical safety management;
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in projects related to construction of PV plants, solar panels installation, etc.;
• Knowledgeable in HSSE regulations;
• Able to often travel throughout Bulgaria for managing multiple projects.
