SUNOTEC positions itself as an integrated solution provider, covering all services from geology, procurement, engineering and construction services to operations and maintenance and re-powering of plants with a large focus on BESS.

 

Expanding our UK Operations, we are looking for an on-site HSE Coordinator.

 

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be site-based. This role shall include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the Site Management Team in a collaborative manner to ensure needs are identified and escalated to the SHEQ Manager;
  • Review and implementation of health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and site inspections;
  • Provide advice and support to all staff and managers on safe systems of work, emergency procedures, and control measures;
  • Deliver engaging training in health and safety, i.e., toolbox talks, site inductions, etc.;
  • Support SHEQ Manager with the undertaking of site and internal health & safety audits to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented;
  • Monitor and analyse incidents, assigning severity ratings and ensuring effective investigations are carried out, contribute to Serious Incident Reviews and report RIDDOR events as required. Ensure all incidents are recorded in the accident book;
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external bodies (including the HSE where required) to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement;
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by involving staff and communicating key information clearly and effectively;
  • Collect and correlate all CDM and Relevant documentation, including but not limited to COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RAMS Reviews, as well as reviewing and collaborating with the SHEQ Manager in regards to CPP, Site FRA, Emergency AP, and similar site CDM Documentation;
  • Undertake Fire Drills with the Site Management;
  • Monitor and ensure maintenance of all Environmental and Ecological protection and exclusion zones.

 

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • 3 years of experience in projects related to the construction of either PV Ground Mount systems, Steel Structures or Civils Industry;
  • Green CSCS Card to allow for site operation;
  • NEBOSH GNC;
  • Experience in construction safety management systems and electrical safety management;
  • IOSH Managing Health and Safety in Construction is an advantage;
  • Knowledge in HSSE regulations, CDM, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER;
  • IT Experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office;
  • Able to often travel throughout UK for managing multiple projects.
