Behind every large-scale energy project is an organization that needs the right people, processes and support to perform at its best.

SUNOTEC is an international system integrator of large-scale renewable energy infrastructure. With more than 680 projects and over 15 GW of installed renewable energy capacity, our teams work across power generation, battery energy storage, grid infrastructure and lifecycle services in multiple European markets.

As our organization continues to grow, we’re looking for an HR Generalist to join our team in Sofia and help us create a consistent, effective employee experience across the full employment lifecycle.

Why this role matters:

Good HR goes beyond getting the paperwork right. It gives managers the confidence to make sound people decisions, gives employees clarity and support, and ensures that processes keep pace with the organization as it grows.

As an HR Generalist at SUNOTEC, you’ll take ownership of key HR processes from onboarding through performance management, employment changes and offboarding. You’ll work closely with managers and employees, advise them on employment matters and help improve the way our HR processes work in practice.

Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, you’ll have the opportunity to combine hands-on HR expertise with process improvement and advisory work in an international business.

Where you'll make an impact:

  • Own key employee lifecycle processes, ensuring onboarding, probation periods, employment changes and offboarding are handled accurately, consistently and on time;
  • Coordinate performance management and appraisal processes, supporting managers in applying them effectively and consistently;
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for managers and employees on employment matters, providing practical guidance based on Bulgarian labour legislation and internal HR policies;
  • Support organizational changes, including changes to roles, structures, workplaces and employment conditions, ensuring the required HR actions are properly coordinated;
  • Maintain accurate employee and organizational data, giving the business reliable information for HR decisions, reporting and workforce management;
  • Support disciplinary and employment termination cases, working carefully with managers to ensure legal requirements and internal procedures are followed;
  • Use employee feedback and HR data to identify patterns, risks and opportunities to improve engagement and the employee experience;
  • Review existing HR processes and turn improvement opportunities into practical changes, with a focus on greater consistency, efficiency and automation.

You'll thrive in this role if you:

  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in an HR role, with hands-on exposure to HR processes and employee administration;
  • Have a solid working knowledge of Bulgarian labour legislation and can apply it confidently to real employment situations;
  • Are comfortable advising managers and employees, explaining requirements clearly and translating HR policies into practical solutions;
  • Work accurately with employee data and documentation, where confidentiality, attention to detail and meeting deadlines are essential;
  • Can manage several HR processes at the same time and follow them through from start to finish;
  • Look beyond the immediate task and regularly ask how a process could work better, more consistently or more efficiently;
  • Have experience with SAP SuccessFactors, Workday or another HRIS/ERP system;
  • Work confidently in English at a professional level, as you'll operate within an international organization;
  • Have a university degree in Human Resources, Economics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Why you'll enjoy working here:

You’ll join an HR team supporting a growing international organization behind some of Europe’s largest renewable energy infrastructure projects.

The role gives you exposure to the full employee lifecycle rather than one narrow area of HR. You’ll work directly with managers and employees, take ownership of your processes and have room to improve how things are done rather than simply administer established routines.

You’ll also work in an environment where HR is expected to understand the business, provide practical advice and contribute to building processes that can support the organization as it grows.

In addition, you'll benefit from:

  • A remuneration package reflecting the scope of the role and your experience;
  • Full-time employment contract;
  • Additional health insurance including dental care;
  • Multisport card;
  • 24 days of paid annual leave;
  • Home office policy;
  • Modern office facilities, team events and additional employee benefits.

If you’re looking for an HR role where you can combine hands-on employee support with real ownership of processes and their improvement, we’d like to hear from you.

Send us your CV in English and join the team supporting the people behind SUNOTEC’s energy projects across Europe.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Your documents and personal data will be treated as confidential and protected in accordance with Bulgarian Data Protection Legislation and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
