Expanding our office in Munich, we are looking for Tax Specialist.

 

Purpose of the role: To ensure accurate, timely and audit-proof tax compliance in day to-day operations, as well as to contribute to monthly and annual financial statements in an international environment – liaising with Accounting, Controlling and Payroll, as well as external advisors.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing tax support (in-house): Handling and coordinating tax-related matters in day-to-day operations (particularly VAT) in consultation with Accounting and, where necessary, external tax advisors;
  • VAT & returns: Preparation/review of VAT returns, ZM, Intrastat (if applicable within the company), support with specific VAT issues (EU/third countries, chain transactions, reverse charge, etc.);
  • Financial Statements: Involvement in monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (HGB; where applicable, group requirements/IFRS reporting) with a focus on tax accruals, account reconciliations and plausibility checks;
  • Tax Compliance & Documentation: Maintenance and further development of processes, checklists and documentation (IC/IKS), timely reporting, and maintaining evidence for audits;
  • Interface management: Close collaboration with SAP Accounting (e.g. FI, SD/MM where applicable) as well as the use and reconciliation of DATEV reports or data for external declarations and financial statement documentation;
  • Audits & communication with authorities: Support during tax audits/special audits (e.g. VAT), compilation of documentation, handling of queries (usually via the Tax Lead/Head of Tax);
  • Projects / Digitalisation: Collaboration on process harmonisation, system migrations, automation (e.g. SAP reports, DATEV interfaces, workflow tools).

 

Profile:

  • Completed training as a tax specialist (m/f/d);
  • Several years’ relevant professional experience in tax/accounting (practice or in house), ideally with a focus on international business transactions;
  • Very good knowledge of German tax law, particularly VAT, as well as a solid grounding in financial reporting/accounting (HGB; IFRS an advantage);
  • Excellent knowledge of DATEV (e.g. reports, posting logic/document flow) and SAP;
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; analytical and structured approach to work;
  • Good command of German and English (for international interfaces).
