SUNOTEC positions itself as an integrated solution provider, covering all services from geology, procurement, engineering and construction services to operations and maintenance and re-powering of plants with a large focus on BESS.

Expanding our team in Munich or our team in Berlin, we are looking for a Senior BESS and Engineering Lead.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to define and implement commercial strategies for BESS projects, including market analysis, pricing, and business development initiatives;
• Directs the engineering team in the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge BESS solutions across a range of projects;
• Oversees the full lifecycle of BESS projects—from planning and execution to delivery—ensuring alignment with technical, financial, and regulatory goals;
• Acts as a key liaison with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate clear communication, alignment, and successful outcomes;
• Serves as the subject matter expert on BESS technology, offering leadership and mentoring to ensure engineering excellence and innovation;
• Monitors and enforces compliance with all relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and permitting requirements across all projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field;
• Proven experience in BESS technology and project management;
• Sound knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines for mounting systems and constructions;
• Strong understanding of commercial strategy development and implementation;
• Technical understanding of statics, materials science and assembly systems;
• Excellent leadership and team management skills;
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
• Fluent in English and German.
