Expanding our SUNOTEC Mounting Systems-Teamin Munich, we are looking for a Production Design Engineer. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develops, designs, and improves PV racking systems, with a focus on PV trackers and fixed-tilt structures, as part of an international R&D team;
  • Designs mechanical components, develops new products, and optimizes existing solutions;
  • Creates and maintains 3D CAD models and technical documentation for mechanical components and systems; Builds and tests prototypes, performs mechanical validation, and supports product improvements;
  • Conducts mechanical testing and analysis of components and systems;
  • Collaborates with suppliers, internal teams, and installers to ensure technical feasibility, manufacturability, and efficient installation;
  • Provides technical support to customers, installers, and project teams when needed;
  • Travels occasionally to testing facilities or project sites in Europe and other regions. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field;
  • Experience in mechanical design or R&D, preferably with PV racking systems (trackers or fixed-tilt structures); 
  • Good knowledge of 3D CAD (preferably Autodesk Inventor) and MS Office;
  • Experience with mechanical prototyping, testing, and product validation;
  • Strong technical thinking, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Fluent English; 
  • Knowledge of German, Bulgarian, PV systems, FEM analysis, or tracker control systems is considered an advantage.
