Expanding our UK operations, we are looking for a Site Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all on-site construction activities for utility-scale solar farm projects across the UK, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards;
  • Lead, supervise, and coordinate all day-to-day on-site construction activities for solar farm projects;
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and UK regulations (e.g., CDM Regulations);
  • Manage and monitor site personnel, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications and performance targets;
  • Implement and oversee quality control procedures, conducting regular inspections to ensure work meets required standards and specifications;
  • Manage site logistics, including material deliveries, storage, and equipment deployment;
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met and any issues are promptly resolved;
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, progress reports, safety documentation, and material inventories;
  • Conduct regular site meetings to communicate plans, address issues, and ensure alignment among the site team and subcontractors;
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges on site, implementing effective solutions to maintain project progress;
  • Oversee the commissioning and handover process, ensuring all site works are completed satisfactorily.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site management within large-scale construction, with at least 2 years in the renewable energy or solar sector;
  • Proven experience successfully managing utility-scale or ground-mounted solar sites in the UK;
  • Solid knowledge of UK construction regulations and H&S legislation (SMSTS/SSSTS required; Temporary Works Supervisor desirable);
  • Strong understanding of solar PV system components, installation processes, and quality standards;
  • Relevant construction management qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) or equivalent experience; First Aid and other site certifications;
  • Full UK driving license and readiness to travel to sites across the UK;
  • Strong leadership, team management and communication skills, with ability to engage staff, contractors and stakeholders;
  • Excellent problem-solving, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure;
  • Proficiency with site management tools, reporting software and Microsoft Office;
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and environmental standards.
